2020: A Year of Smiles for Beacon House – HuCASDEVI’s Annual Orphanage Support Project

In 2020, HuCASDEVI Ghana, with the incredible support of individuals, families, and organizations like you, brought joy and hope to the hearts of vulnerable children at Beacon House—our selected orphanage for the year. Located at Mensah Bar on Dodowa Road, Beacon House became the focus of our annual outreach program, where we committed to year-round support, culminating in a grand celebration on 26th December 2020.

Throughout the year, our team visited Beacon House eight times, bringing essential supplies, engaging in fun activities, and sharing memorable moments with the children. Each visit was a reminder that, despite the challenges of the times—especially during the COVID-19 pandemic—acts of kindness can light up the darkest days.

Our year-long project culminated in a heartwarming Christmas party on 26th December, where the children danced, played, and received much-needed donations. Thanks to the generosity of our partners and friends, we were able to provide a wide range of items, including:

🎁 Bags of rice, sugar, cooking oil, and groceries

🎁 Fresh fruits and vegetables

🎁 Bottled and sachet water, soft drinks, and snacks

🎁 Toiletries: toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet tissue, powdered soap, floor cleaner, bar soap, deodorants, and body splash

🎁 Milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate

🎁 Gari, tin tomatoes

🎁 Toys and games to spark their creativity

🎁 Beautiful children’s clothing, shoes, and fabrics—especially 20 traditional Christmas outfits, lovingly sewn for each child

The smiles on the children’s faces were priceless, and their joy was contagious. One of the most touching moments was when the children received their new clothes and gifts; the excitement and gratitude were overwhelming.

We couldn’t have done it without you—our incredible community of supporters. From those who donated cash and items to those who helped us collect and deliver the supplies, every single contribution made a difference. Even friends from the UK joined in, sending items through Samuel Manu of PIWC to be shipped to Ghana.

HuCASDEVI Ghana remains deeply grateful for your love and generosity. Together, we showed that no matter how tough the year, we can still put smiles on the faces of those who need it most.
Let’s continue to make a difference—one child, one community, one act of kindness at a time.
